How to Change the Points Shown for a Purchase

In Casa Loyalty, the number of points shown on a product purchase is controlled by two things:

  1. Place an Order (Ways to Earn) – This determines how many points customers earn per purchase.
  2. Points on Product Page Extension – This displays the calculated points on the product page.

If you want to change how many points customers receive for a purchase, you need to update the Place an Order rule.

✅ What It Does

The Points on Product Page extension shows customers how many loyalty points they will earn for purchasing a product.

The number displayed is calculated using the points ratio set in the “Place an Order” rule.

Example:

  • If 1 point = $1 spent

→ A $200 product will show 200 points

  • If 10 points = $1 spent

→ A $200 product will show 2000 points

When you change the points ratio, the points shown on product pages will update automatically.

▶️ Step 1: Enable the Points Display on the Product Page

First, make sure the Points on Product Page extension is enabled.

  1. Open Casa Loyalty in Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Extensions.
  3. Find Points on Product Page.
  4. Click Setup.
  5. Shopify will open the Theme Editor.
  6. Add the Casa Loyalty Points on Product Page block to your product page.
  7. Click Save.

Once enabled, customers will see how many points they can earn directly on the product page.

▶️ Step 2: Change How Many Points Customers Earn

To change the points customers earn for purchases:

  1. Open Casa Loyalty in Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Click Ways to Earn.
  4. Select Place an Order.
  5. Adjust the points value per amount spent.
  6. Click Save.

The points displayed on the product page will automatically update based on the new rule.

🎯 Why Show Points on the Product Page?

Displaying points on product pages helps:

  • Show the reward value immediately
  • Increase engagement with your loyalty program

🧠 Pro Tips

  • Use a simple earning rule like 1 point per $1 spent to keep rewards easy to understand.
  • Test a product page after changing the ratio to confirm the points update correctly.
  • Combine this with reward redemption options so customers can clearly see both earning and spending value.
