How Are Points Allotted for Orders in Casa Loyalty?
In Casa Loyalty, one of the most popular ways to reward customers is by giving them points for placing orders. This is typically configured as something like 10 points per $1 spent.
But how do we calculate what amount the points are given on? Let's break it down.
๐ก Points Are Awarded on the Original Product Value
By default, Casa Loyalty awards points based on the original subtotal of the products, before any discounts (like coupon codes) are applied. This means:
๐ Example:
- A product is priced at $100
- A discount coupon brings it down to $50
- The customer earns points on $100, not $50
This ensures customers get full value recognition, even when discounts are used.
โ๏ธ Customize Point Calculation in Settings
You can customize how Casa Loyalty calculates point-eligible amounts by going to:
Settings > Platform > Reward customers for the following parts of an order
Here are the available options:
โ Subtotal (default)
- Points are calculated on the subtotal of products, before taxes, shipping, or discounts.
โ Exclude coupon discount
- If enabled, coupon or discount amounts will not be subtracted from the subtotal when awarding points.
๐งพ Include taxes
- Adds any applicable taxes to the amount used for calculating points.
๐ Include shipping
- Adds shipping charges to the amount used for calculating points.
You can mix and match these options based on how you want your rewards system to behave.
